How we do it
LIUNA is widely recognized for producing highly skilled workers in the construction and energy industries.
Our members are experienced construction craft labourer (CCL) who rely on a diverse set of skills, performed on a wide variety of job sites.
Local 180 offers a variety of programs in Saskatchewan which focus on expanding the skills of our members and proving them with opportunities to advance in their respective trade.
Training is available to all members
who are in good standing.
1. Safety Training
Labourers are often first on the job-site and the last to leave, ensuring the work-site is safe for other trades to come in and conduct their work. Courses available to Local 180 members include:
Confined Space
Fall Protection
First Aid
Ground Disturbance
Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
Pipeline Safety
Traffic Control (TCP)
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
2. Skills Development
With the Local 180 Training Center and mobile training offered throughout Saskatchewan, Local 180 have additional courses offering to ensure they are continuing developing their skillset and making them the most qualified in the industry. Courses include;

Scaffolding
3. Skills Training
Pre-employment Course - this course focuses on preparing individuals with no prior construction experience for the job-site. The course covers; tool use, job-site safety, and provides insight on what is to be expected when entering into the construction industry.
CCL - Construction Craft Labourer - this is a nationally recognized Red Seal certification for those in the skilled labour field.
With two Red Seal pathways being offered through Local 180, every member is encouraged to sign up for either or both Red Seals. Local 180 works with our members to not only obtain employment, but help our members secure lucrative careers.
